03 APR          DELHI-CHANDIGARH-PALAMPUR:

 

Arrive Delhi at 0845 hrs. And transfer to domestic airport to board flight for Chandigarh at 1140 hrs. Arrive Chandigarh at 1220 Hrs. Meet upon arrival and drive to Palampur. Arrive Palampur and check in to the hotel (Silver Oaks). Overnight at hotel.

 

 04 APR                    PALAMPUR-BAIJNANTH-CHAMUNDA-DHARAMSALA:

 

Morning after breakfast visit  Baijnath: famous for 500 years old Shiva Temple The temple of Baijnath is remarkable for its unique, highly imaginative design and skilled workmanship. Continue drive to Bir to see Buddhist monasteries. Thereafter drive to famous Chamund Nandikeshwar Dham. This place has a beautiful bathing ghat and a small temple across the bridge joining the ghat. On the way to Dharamsala see Chinmayanand Samadhi (Hindu temple), Buddhist Norblinka Monastery and Christian church St. John in the Wilderness. Thereafter drive to McLeodganj and check into the hotel (Bhagsu). Overnight at hotel.

 

 05 APR         MCLEODGANJ (DHARAMSALA):

 

Morning after breakfast visit Bhagsu Nag (waterfall), Dal Lake and Dharamkot. In the afternoon walk to  Buddha temple situated opposite of the present abode of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. Evening free for shopping. Overnight at hotel.

 

06 APR          DHARAMSALA-CHAMBA:

 

Morning after breakfast drive to Chamba. The town stands on a plateau on the right bank of the Ravi river valley between Dhauladhar and Zanskar ranges south of the inner Himalayas. This town was founded by Raja Sahil Varman when he conquered the lower Rani valley from the petty chiefs called Ranas and Thakurs in the beginning of 10th century. Arrive Chamba and check into the hotel.
In the afternoon visit Lakshmi Narayana Temple and Chugan. Overnight at hotel(Iravati).

 

07 APR          CHAMBA-BHARMAUR-CHAMBA:

 

Morning after breakfast full day excursion to Bharmaur. Bharmaur, 65 kms from Chamba is the land of the legendary Gaddies. Known as Brahmpur in the 6th century, it was the seat of power of Chamba state for some 400 years, till AD 920, when a new capital was founded at Chamba by Raja Sahil Varman. Bharmaur is known for some very old archaeological remains, primarily the temples. All these temples stand on a level area which are called the Chaurasi after the 84 Siddhas who are believed to have meditated in Bharmaur over 1000 years ago. Visit the different temples like Lakshni devi and Ganesha temple.

Afternoon back to Chamba and visit the Chamunda temple, the Sui Mata Temple, which is on an elevation of Shah Madar Hill, and the Bhuri Singh Museum. Overnight at hotel.

 

08 APR          CHAMBA-MASROOR-PRAGPUR: 

 

Morning after breakfast drive to Pragpur (near Kangra) visiting Masroor temples (15kms. south of Kangra) enroute. Masroor is known for its monolithic rock temples. There are 15 rock cut temples in Indo-Aryan style and richly carved. The temples partly ruined now are profusely decorated with sculptural ornamentations, conceived in the same manner as the great temple of Kailash at Elora in Maharastra with which they bear a striking resemblance. The main temple is dedicated to Lord Ram, Lakshman and Sita.

Arrive Pragpur and check in to the hotel (Judges Court). Pragpur is the first heritage village of Asia. Overnight at hotel.

 

09 Apr           Pragpur-Shimla:

 

Morning after breakfast drive to Shimla. In the afternoon sightseeing in Shimla. Overnight at hotel (Woodville Palace).

10 APR          SHIMLA-NIRATH-RAMPUR-SARAHAN:

 

Morning after breakfast visit Jakhoo Temple in Shimla. The temple is dedicated to Hanuman, the monkey god. This is why you will find lots of monkeys near this temple. Thereafter drive to Sarahan visiting Nirath and Rampur enroute. In Nirath see two small ancient temples (dedicated to Bhimkali and sungod). In Rampur the palace and the Krishna temple are worth visiting.

Arrive Sarahan and check into the hotel. Sarahan is the gateway to Kinnaur with spectacular view of Srikhand range.  In the afternoon visit of the majestic Bhimkali Temple. Overnight at hotel (Shrikhand).

 

11 APR          SARAHAN-CHORA-KALPA:

 

Morning after breakfast another visit of Sarahan: Bhimkali Temple and Raja Bushahr Palace cum temple complex. After that drive to Kalpa (2759m). Enroute visit small ancient village Chora. Beyond Reckong Peo (14 kms. from Powari) on the link road, Kalpa is the main village of the District. Across the river, facing Kalpa is the majesty of the Kinner Kailash range. This is a spectacular sight in the evening as the rising sun touches the snowy peaks with crimson and gold.  Arrive and check into the hotel.

In the afternoon see Chinni Village (old Kalpa) and temples. In the evening religious procession and ceremony. Overnight at hotel (Kinner).

 

12 APR          KALPA:

 

Morning after breakfast walk 8 km to Pangi. After return drive (8 km) to small village of Roghi. Walk through this town with its old houses and temple. In the afternoon again Chinni. Overnight at hotel.

 

 13 APR         KALPA-KOTHI-KAMRU-SANGLA:

 

Morning after breakfast first stop at Kothi Village, 10 km from Kalpa (Hindu temple and Buddhist Stupa). Then drive to Sangla Valley, which starts 57 kms. short of Kalpa and has been named after the beautiful and populous village Sangla. Sangla is situated on the right bank of Baspa river. 2km north of Sangla climb up to Kamru Village. In the old village of Kamru you will find BadriNath Temple, Bhimkali Temple, a Buddhist Gompa and an old 5 storey tall fort. Arrive Sangla and check into Banjara Camp. In the afternoon walk to the old village of Batseri. Overnight in the camp.

 

14 APR          SANGLA-BATSERI-SARAHAN:

 

 

Breakfast and free time to enjoy the scenic beauty of the valley: walk from the camp again to Batseri Village and from there to Sangla. Afternoon drive to Sarahan. Arrive Sarahan and check into the hotel. Overnight at hotel (Shrikand).

 

15 APR          SARAHAN-ROHRU:

 

Morning after breakfast drive to Rohru. Arrive Rohru and check into the hotel. In the afternoon see Rohru (uninteresting modern town).Overnight at hotel (Chansal).

 

16 APR          ROHRU-HATKOTI-HANOL-MUSSOORIE-RISHIKESH: 

 

Morning after breakfast visit temple town Hatkoti, then drive to another small temple town: Hanol. Via Mussoorie (Kemti-Waterfalls) drive to Rishikesh. Arrive Rishikesh and check into the hotel. Overnight (Hotel Neeraj Bhawan).

 

17 APR          RISHIKESH-HARIDWAR-DELHI: 

 

In the morning after breakfast first visit Rishikesh, then go to Haridwar. There experience Ardh Kumbh Mela. In the afternoon drive to Delhi. Check into hotel (Ashok Country Resort) for wash and change and later transfer to the International Airport to board flight at 0430 hrs.
